La Lignée — Terms & Conditions and Sales Policy

1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to La Lignée ("La Lignée," "we," "us," or "our"). These Customer Terms & Conditions and Sales Policy ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, web app, and related services (collectively, the "Site"), as well as purchases made through the Site.

By accessing the Site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site or complete a purchase.

2. Business Identity & Scope

La Lignée is an independent reseller of pre-owned, vintage, and/or luxury handbags and accessories. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorized by the brands whose products appear on the Site. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

These Terms apply to all purchases made through the Site.

3. Eligibility & Age Restriction

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Site or place an order. Purchases must be for personal use or gifting, and not for unlawful resale or other prohibited purposes.

4. Product Description, Authenticity & Condition Disclosure

Authenticity

We make reasonable efforts to ensure authenticity, including working with trusted suppliers and third-party authenticators when applicable. Items are sold "as is"; no independent authenticity warranty is given unless explicitly stated in the listing.

Condition

All items are pre-owned and/or vintage. Photos and condition ratings (e.g., "Excellent," "Very Good," "Good," "Fair") represent our good-faith assessment. Wear such as rubbing, patina, scratches, or hardware wear is normal for vintage/pre-owned pieces.

Buyer Responsibility

You agree to carefully review all photos and descriptions before purchasing. If you need additional photos or have questions, you must request them before checkout. By purchasing, you acknowledge that vintage and pre-owned items are not new and may have imperfections.

5. Pricing, Taxes, Duties & Currency

All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise specified.

Taxes

Applicable sales taxes will be calculated and displayed at checkout where required by law. You are responsible for any additional taxes that may apply in your jurisdiction that we are not required to collect directly.

International Duties

For international orders, import duties, taxes, or customs fees are the buyer's responsibility. La Lignée is not responsible for delays, holds, or additional fees resulting from customs processes.

6. Orders, Payment & Fraud Prevention

Your order constitutes an offer to purchase a product from us under these Terms.

Payment is collected via Stripe or other payment providers we may use. By submitting payment, you represent that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

We may cancel or refuse any order at our discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud, incorrect information, or policy violations. If we cancel an order after payment, we will issue a refund to the original payment method.

7. Shipping, Delivery & Risk of Loss

Shipping methods, estimated delivery times, and costs are shown at checkout. Orders are typically processed within 2–4 business days; this is an estimate, not a guarantee.

Risk of loss and title pass to you when the package is accepted by the shipping carrier. La Lignée is not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, misdelivered, or damaged after carrier acceptance.

Damage in Transit

If your item appears significantly damaged in transit, please document the packaging and item with photos and contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will review your claim on a case-by-case basis.

8. All Sales Final — Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

Due to the unique nature of vintage and pre-owned items, all sales are final. We do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges for:

Buyer's remorse or change of mind
Fit, size, or color preferences
Minor wear consistent with age and described condition

Exception — Significant Misdescription

If you believe an item is materially different from its description (for example, undisclosed major damage or missing key features), you must contact us within 48 hours of delivery with detailed photos and explanation. At our sole discretion, remedies may include a partial refund, store credit, or, in rare cases, a return and full refund.

9. Website Content, Availability & Errors

We strive to keep information accurate, but errors (including in pricing, availability, or descriptions) may occur. We may correct such errors at any time and may cancel affected orders with a refund if necessary.

10. Intellectual Property & Trademarks

All original photography, text, and content on the Site are owned by La Lignée or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or use such content without our prior written consent.

Third-party brand names, logos, and trademarks appearing on the Site are the property of their respective owners. La Lignée is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an authorized retailer of these brands.

11. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to misuse the Site, including by:

Violating any laws or regulations
Infringing our intellectual property or the rights of others
Submitting false or misleading information
Attempting unauthorized access to the Site or related systems
Interfering with or disrupting Site operations

12. Warranty Disclaimer

The Site and all products are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, La Lignée, its owners, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or any purchase.

In any event, our total liability for any claim related to a purchase will not exceed the amount you actually paid for the specific item at issue.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless La Lignée and its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

15. Right to Cancel by La Lignée

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order at our discretion, including due to suspected fraud, listing errors, or legal or compliance concerns. If your order is canceled after payment has been processed, we will issue a refund to your original payment method.

16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update or revise these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
